Sault Ste. Marie’s Brad Jacobs picked up a pair of wins Tuesday to remain unbeaten at the 2025 Montana’s Brier in Kelowna, B.C.

The Jacobs rink, which includes third Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant, and lead Ben Hebert, is one of three unbeaten teams left in the tournament with round robin play set to wrap up on Thursday.

Jacobs opened the day with a 6-3 win over Rylan Kleiter of Saskatchewan in the morning draw.

After blanking the opening two ends, Jacobs took the lead in the third with a pair and led 4-1 through six ends. Kleiter pulled to within one thanks to a pair of his own in the seventh end before Jacobs capped off the scoring with a single in the eighth and steal of one more in the ninth end to pick up the win.

Jacobs capped off the day with a 7-3 win over Owen Purcell of Nova Scotia in eight ends in the evening draw.

While leading 3-2, Jacobs broke the game open in with four in the seventh end en route to the win and maintaining a perfect record.

Jacobs, sitting at 5-0, will face Ontario’s Sam Mooibroek in the afternoon draw on Wednesday before wrapping up the round robin with a pair of games on Thursday.

After suffering his first loss of the event on Monday, Matt Dunstone’s Manitoba-based rink that includes Sault products E.J. Harnden and Ryan Harnden returned to the win column on Tuesday.

Team Dunstone beat Ty Dilello of Newfoundland and Labrador 5-4 in an extra end in Tuesday’s afternoon draw.

With Dunstone up 4-3, Dilello forced the extra end by stealing one in the 10th end.

The Dunstone rink, currently 4-1, will play a pair of games on Wednesday. The team will face James Grattan of New Brunswick in the morning draw before wrapping up the day in the evening draw against Reid Carruthers of Manitoba.

Team Northern Ontario, skipped by John Epping, dropped an 8-6 decision to Carruthers Tuesday.

Carruthers scored a pair in the ninth end to take a 7-6 lead before sealing the win with a steal of one in the final end.

Epping, sporting a 4-2 record through Tuesday’s action, will face Dilello on Wednesday in the evening draw.
