Summer may have just started, but back-to-school-season will be here before you know it and with that comes the need for new school supplies.

United Way Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma is inviting you to help students kick off the 2024-25 school year with the launch of its annual Backpacks for Success program.

This program provides students from kindergarten through grade 12 with backpacks filled with grade-appropriate supplies.

“We are thrilled to run our second annual Backpacks for Success initiative! Continuing this program under our Helping Kids Be All That Kids Can Be pillar is incredibly fulfilling," Fundraising Manager Rayna Evoy said in a news release issued today. "Providing the necessary supplies helps students start the school year with confidence. Education is crucial in breaking the cycle of poverty, and having the right supplies can make a significant difference in a student's learning experience. With your support, we can reduce stress, create change, and improve the lives of entire families.”

Anyone interested in donating can do so online or if you'd like to contribute supplies, drop them off at the United Way office at 301-258 Queen Street East.
