A celebration of hunting, angling, and archery is coming to Sault Ste. Marie Canadian Tire, and that’s good news for outdoorsy types who can’t wait to set their sights on their favourite catch.

The first ever “Cast and Blast” event is a four-day event scheduled for August 22nd through 25th, and according to Pro Shop Manager Chris Celetti, consumers are going to be pleased and pleasantly surprised by the vast array of such products being sold at Canadian Tire.

“This is the first time we’re doing it, and it’s designed to promote hunting and fishing,” said Celetti. “We want to draw in as many people as possible, outdoors people, to realize all the products we actually carry. People will be shocked when they come through the store to see the selection we have.”

For example, the in-store event at Canadian Tire will showcase over 350 different firearms, including all the long guns preferred by hunting advocates. For anglers, the selection will be equally impressive, with new fishing rods, fish finders, and a vast array of accessories available in over 700 feet of in-store aisle space allocated to the event.

“For example, we’ll be featuring a lot of new angling supplies including the new line of Crush City plastic baits from Rapala,” he said. “The industry is really pushing toward plastic bait, and we’ll have almost 40 feet of plastic bait on display.”

The “Cast and Blast” event will be all about variety and selection. Hunters will find a wide selection of rifle and shotgun ammunition along with bear spray, tree stands, ground blinds, baits and attractants. Anglers will be able to see all the latest rods, reels, and fishing gear.  There’s even a great selection of crossbows, targets, and broadheads for those traditional hunters who prefer archery over hunting rifles.

“It really is a one-stop shop for everything hunters and anglers will need to ensure they’re prepared for the season,” said Celetti. “All gun and ammunition purchases will require an up-to-date PAL as required.”

As part of the “Cast and Blast” event Canadian Tire will be hosting a draw for a free firearm. To learn more drop into Canadian Tire and visit the Pro Shop.
