At 2:30 p.m. today, Queen Street closed from East Street to Brock.
It's closing for Buskerfest, which is co-presented by Tenaris Algoma Tubes and the Great Northern Hotel and Conference Centre this weekend.
Of course, the Great Northern Hotel and Conference Centre is way too long a name for a SooToday.com headline.
So we gave the headline to the community-minded folk at Tenaris.
This year, Buskerfest features two pitches for entertainment and a whole host of totally local vendors, says Sault Buskerfest General Manager Donna Hopper.
Among those seven acts is Wacky Chad, [shown] who's showing his talented face in the Sault for the first time this year.
And we do mean it's a talented face.
Besides being very expressive, Wacky Chad's face can do fun things like balance a shopping cart while his feet do other interesting stuff.
Wacky Chad, is far from being the only talented performer who will grace the busker pitches on Queen Street in front of the museum this year.
The Fast Horses, a Lakota family who perform Native traditions and dances, return for an encore presentation.
Basketball Jones dribbles his way over from Australia and the Wally Show tumbles in from Iceland as well.
This year the festival also includes workshops, Hopper says.
"Three of the performers will be giving workshops as well as local artist Sherie McKay Gladu and others," she said during a media circus today at the Great Northern Hotel and Conference Centre.
Buskerfest runs from 3:30 to about 11 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is free, but bring enough change to make your pants fall down because you're going to want to dump loads of it in these performers hats.
