APH reporting low risk exposure in the Sault, 26 new COVID cases

Algoma Public Health is reporting a low-risk COVID-19 exposure in Sault Ste. Marie.

The exposure was at Shooters Lounge on Dennis St. during the following dates/times:

  • Nov. 13 and 14, 2021, between 11 a.m. and 2 a.m. (opening until close)
  • Nov. 15, 2021, between 11 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 

Anyone who was present during those times is advised to self-monitor for COVID symptoms for 10 days from potential exposure, self-isolate immediately and seek testing if symptoms develop.

APH is also reporting 26 new COVID cases in the region, 21 in the Sault area and five in central and east Algoma.

Of the new cases, 18 were infected through close contact with a confirmed case while six others are under the exposure category of unknown, meaning they did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case. Two other exposure categories are currently under investigation.

Both individuals who have exposure as under investigation also have their current status as under investigation while the 24 others are currently self-isolating.

There are currently 230 active cases in Algoma and 16 hospitalizations.
