Jazz enthusiasts in the Soo are in for a rare treat this weekend with two incredible nights of music, featuring jazz musicians from the area and around the world.
Matt Warnock Guitar presents the first annual Jazz Guitar Summit 2024, on Friday and Saturday, September 20 and 21.
Workshops for Jazz musicians will be held all day Friday. Friday night at 7 p.m., participants and audience members will get to enjoy some talented featured jazz performers in the relaxing atmosphere of the Water Tower Inn.
Saturday, the grand finale of the Jazz Guitar Summit will take place, with an incredible evening of live music by some of the best in the world, at The Loft in Sault Ste. Marie, starting at 7:30 p.m. Doors for this special evening open at 6:30 p.m.
The host of Jazz Guitar Summit, Matt Warnock, is an internationally recognized performance and guitar educator. Matt has performed in concert halls and at jazz festivals in the US, Canada, Brazil, New Zealand, U.K., France, Belgium, Estonia, and Latvia. He's shared the stage with Randy Brecker, Slide Hampton, Stefon Harris, and other legendary jazz musicians.
Warnock, who now lives in Sault Ste. Marie, enthused, “This event brings together talented jazz guitarists from across the US, Canada, the UK, and India for an exciting night of jazz music. Attendees can expect performances that showcase a variety of jazz styles, featuring both students and professional musicians.”
