24 new COVID cases reported by Algoma Public Health in Sault area

Algoma Public Health is reporting 24 new COVID-19 cases in the region, all of which are in the Sault Ste. Marie area.

The new cases bring the number of active cases in the region up to 234 with 15 hospitalizations.

Of the new cases, 15 individuals were infected through close contact with a known confirmed case while the exposure of eight others is unknown and the exposure category of one individual is under investigation.

Unknown exposure means the individual did not have any recent international travel or close contact with a known confirmed case. 

APH is reporting that 23 of the individuals are currently self-isolating while one is "under investigation."

Of the new cases, one individual was tested on Nov. 14, four on Nov. 15, one on Nov. 16, 16 on Nov. 17, and two on Nov. 18.
