It’s been a year learning to live without the person we were supposed to have for a lifetime; a year battling the waves of grief; a year keeping your memory alive.
You were gentle and kind. You never judged. You taught us how to accept, even the things we didn’t understand.
The truth is, there are no perfect words. Even the most beautiful sentences fall short of showing how much you mean to us. There is no way to describe how much you are missed and no words that will subside the heartache from our great loss.
And that’s ok……
because it is within your loss that we are reminded how lucky we have been, to love and be loved by you.
Matthew, from the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank you. Thank you for showing us the things that matter most in life. For being our source of light when it seemed the clouds would never clear. Thank you for the countless laughs and the warm embraces we miss so dearly. Our time with you has undoubtedly shaped who we are, and for that we are proud.
You are forever and always, a beautiful soul.
