It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bill, a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He left us on Friday, March 7, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.

Born on June 22, 1943, Bill lived a life full of adventure and purpose. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in nature, spending countless days hunting, fishing, and sharing his love for the great outdoors with family and friends. His passion for the wilderness was only matched by the warmth he brought to those around him, especially his wife and best friend, Bonnie.

Above all, Bill was a family man. His unwavering love and dedication to Bonnie, children Jackie Hazelton, Valerie Scarfone (Mark), Todd (Tracy) and grandchildren, Mitchell (Brittney), Kelsey (Aly), Nicole (Jamie), Austin (Coral), Ella and Adam were the foundation of his life. He was a source of wisdom, laughter, and unconditional support, always ready with a story, a lesson, or a helping hand and a game of euchre.

He is survived by his brother Robert Spencer Shuttleworth (Judy), sisters-in-law Elzine Shuttleworth, Gloria Foster, Sheila Longstreet, brothers-in-law David Harnden and Jack Foster. Predeceased by his brother Arthur (Art) David Shuttleworth, his brothers-in-law, Ken Maaker, John Longstreet and sisters-in-law, Marie Harnden, Helen Foster and Laurey Maaker. Loved uncle to his many nieces and nephews. His kindness, resilience, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

A service to honour and celebrate Bill’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Doctors Patterson, Fratesi, and Berg for years of care. At the end of his life, Dr. White provided the very best care and compassion, giving him comfort in his final moments. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team on 3B at Sault Area Hospital.

Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.northwoodfuneral.com

Though he may no longer walk beside us, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
