HAMILTON — Four suspects have been charged in connection with two daylight attacks that killed two teens and injured others in Hamilton.
Police say the first incident took place around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 6, at the back of a business.
They say suspects opened fire at a group, killing 17-year-old Keden Bond and injuring two others, one of them to a life-altering degree.
Investigators say the second attack occurred in a parking lot the afternoon of Sept. 14.
They say a lone suspect fatally shot 19-year-old Sabir Omer. A second person was not injured.
Police say a search conducted Thursday led to the arrests of four suspects between the ages of 17 and 19.
A 19-year-old man from Halton Region is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in both attacks, as well as weapons and drug trafficking offences.
A 17-year-old boy from Halton Region is charged with first-degree murder in Omer's death, and also faces firearms and drug trafficking charges.
An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Hamilton, are each charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder in the September attack.
"These two daylight shootings occurred in high pedestrian and traffic areas with no concern for public safety," police said in a statement.
"During the investigation, detectives were able to draw a link between the two homicides and investigators believe a number of individuals were involved with executing the murder of Sabir Omer."
Police say a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old woman are also facing firearms and drug charges following Thursday's search.
