In loving memory of Kenneth Roy Smith, who passed away just 3 days shy of his 89th birthday on Friday, May 10th, 2024, at Extendicare Countryside in Sudbury.

Beloved husband of Marion Smith (nee Lyons) predeceased in 1997. Loving father of Greg Gridzak (Lisa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Louise Ripley (Edward Battison predeceased) of Sudbury, Dolores Guindon (Norm) of Timmins, and Jamie Gridzak (Terry) of Sudbury. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren Lindsay (Emile), Michael, Stephen (Audrey), Greg (Natalie), Brandon, Eric (Chandelle), Ryan (Krista), and Riley (Aaron) and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents of Stephen and Pearl Smith (nee Thompson) and siblings Bobby (Cathy), Jack (Laurie), Billy, Gerry (Geraldine), Marilyn and Donald (Elsa). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Carol Lacey (Raymond), as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Ken worked at Sudbury Steam for 30 years. He had a passion for hockey, The Toronto Maple Leafs, hunting, camping, fishing, and music, especially Frank Sinatra. He will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express gratitude to the PSW’s and nurses at Extendicare Countryside.

There will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date, Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society Sudbury Manitoulin would be appreciated.
