D’Agostino, Mafalda, 1932 - 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mafalda, on Friday, October 6, 2023, peacefully at home with her family by her side. She left us 24 days before her 91st birthday. She is now reunited with her devoted husband, Bruno, whom she cherished for 49 years.

Born on October 30, 1932, in Cosenza, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Anna Curci. Loving Mamma of Joseph (Julie), Rosanna (Henry Dos Reis), Aldo (Pina), Marialuisa (Tom Oben), and Michael (Stephanie). Proud Nonna to Paula (Drew Armstrong), Sophie (Mike Storozuk), Jacob Oben, Sara Oben, Mia Rose, and adoring Bisnonna to Maielle Storozuk. Mafalda will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

She was the heart and soul of our family, always gathering everyone together to share in her delicious meals, so lovingly prepared. Mamma taught us how to take pride in everything we are and do. Her beautiful smile lit up a room, and her great sense of humour carried us through. She was generous, warm, and kind, instantly loved by all those she met. Her life, strength, and determination will always be an example for us all.

Our family extends their gratitude to the wonderful people who helped us through Mamma’s journey. With a special thank you to Teresa and Mike.

A private family visitation will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023, followed by interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or The Kidney Foundation of Canada, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home, Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the D’Agostino family.
