NEWS RELEASE

WARD 2 CANDIDATE SUSAN MYERS

**************************
Ward 2 incumbent candidate Susan Myers is eager to meet residents  in a public, casual setting that will allow an opportunity for dialogue at their convenience.

"Door to door visits are great however often the timing is not appropriate to folks. This approach allows people to drop by and chat over a coffee at their convenience".

Myers says she is willing to listen to what people have on their mind and she will have pen in hand to take notes and follow up on any issues or suggestions.

"I expect water will be one topic because it is critically important to all of us", she says.

Late last year, PUC asked Council for representation on a Quality Improvement Drinking Water Committee and Myers stepped up.

She volunteered to be part of a steering committee formed specifically to resolve the issues of taste, odor and colour that have persisted with our city's drinking water over the last three years.

An update was just released by PUC outlining details as to the status of the drinking water improvement project describing when Sault residents can expect to have a return to drinking water free of taste, odor and colour issues.

Myers will have a copy of the update on hand.

Meet Councillor Susan Myers at Pino's Café on the following dates:

Thursday, October 9 - 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday, October 15 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

"I look forward to talking with residents of ward 2 and I want to thank community minded ward 2 businessman Ben Pino, for providing this opportunity to meet and greet folks at his store", says Myers.
