The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre (CBHC) is committed to offering quality education to local and regional schools in the classroom and at its public museum.
New education programs that have an environmental, forestry and weather detection theme have been recently developed to expand the bushplane centre's education mandate. Union Gas continues to support these valuable programs courtesy of a $2,000 grant to CBHC.
“At Union Gas we believe education brings about many rewards,” said Brent Belec, field supervisor utility services, Union Gas. “Union Gas is committed to investing in education and that’s why we support the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre and the great programs they bring to the community.”
The CBHC museum is unique in that it is 100 per cent interactive, with a strong focus on science; specifically the science of flight. Between 2,500 and 3,000 students from Kindergarten to grade 8, participate in the CBHC’s presentations every year.
“This generous donation from Union Gas again helps The Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre maintain our exhibits and programs and supports us as a top tourist attraction and student learning centre,” stated Dan Ingram, executive director, Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre. “The bushplane centre appreciates the support we have received from Union Gas over the years to assist us to educate children about our natural environment."
