The Mid Canada Wildcats Midget AA girls hockey team travelled to Hartford, Connecticut for the Connecticut Polar Bears 22nd annual Holiday Tournament December 27-30, 2006.

There are 220 teams from the United States and Canada at this tournament being played at 18 rinks in the Hartford area. There are five age levels and 14 different divisions.

The Wildcats are in the 17UAA division and their division includes teams from Florida, California, Colorado, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and other Canadian and US cities.

There are 3,700 players and coaches attending this tournament which is the largest girls hockey tournament in the USA.

In their first game, the Mid Canada Wildcats played the Drakkars PST from Quebec and lost 4-2 in a close contest with Quebec scoring their fourth goal into an empty net. Katie Komsa scored both of the Wildcats goals.

The Wildcats play two games Thursday against Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
