The Regional Training Centres (RTC) are patterned after the Centre for Performance Program (CP) and strive to provide athletes an opportunity to enhance their basketball skill level in preparation for Regional Teams (BDP/MDP/JDP), Provincial Teams (Under 15 & Under 17), and the Nike Centres for Performance (CP) – Ontario.

In addition to this, they promote individual skill development, team concepts development, strength and agility education development, time management, and planning and personal development skills.

The RTC program will target male athletes aged 11 to 17 who upon selection will attend four to six sessions between February and April. It will be from here that players may be invited to and participate in Basketball Ontario's Centre for Performance program (CP).

This year our goal is to help develop 30-35 athletes between the ages of 11-17. We also hope to get North kids into our provincial programs like CP and Team Ontario.

All of the components are based on a standardized teaching curriculum as established by the Canadian national team head coaches in conjunction with Canada Basketball's Integrated Athlete Development Model (IAM).

Provincial Coach Jeff Giovanatti will be the head coach for these sessions, which will begin immediately after the high school basketball season. The cost for these sessions will be $50.00, made payable to Basketball Ontario. Stay tuned to tryout dates and training sessions.
