The St. Mary's Knights' high-powered offence cut a dominating path in a 34-18 high school football senior division win over the White Pines Wolverines Saturday afternoon at Rocky DiPietro Field.
It was a story of offence and because the Knights' attack was consistent through four quarters, they were able to fend off White Pines in improving to 2-0 on the season.
Quarterback Ryan Maunu and slot back Noah Rushon hooked up to provide almost all of the offense for White Pines in making the game interesting after trailing 19-0 at one point.
Rushon was sensational, picking passes out of the air when thrown to in double and triple coverage.
For St. Mary's, Adam Zuccato rushed for two touchdowns, and Kayvon Fatemizadeh had another on an 88-yard dash to the end zone. On the passing side of the ball, Knights' quarterback Anthony Amadio found veteran receiver Andrew Ross for a pair of his own touchdown receptions. Ross had 68 yards in receiving on the day.
