******************************* INDIANS WIN FOR NEW COACH CAIN Soo Indians made a winner of Kevin Cain in his head coaching debut with the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League team. The Indians scored two shorthanded goals in a 5-2 win over the crossriver Soo Thunderbirds on Wednesday night at John Rhodes Community Centre. Shane Bailey and Scott Pulak staked the Indians to a 2-0 lead with shorthanded goals on the same penalty kill. Ky Moje later scored twice and the hardworking Paul Isleib also tallied in support of the 33-save performance of Brennan Poderzay. Brett Perlini and Kyle Rodgers replied for the Thunderbirds. With the win, the Indians take a three games to two lead over the Thunderbirds in the Provenzano Cup series. Cain was making his coaching debut after being hired by Indians' owner Charles Perdicaro after last week's firing of Jim Capy. The Indians are now 2-0 without Capy as Perdicaro filled in behind the bench in last Saturday's 3-2 win over the Blind River Beavers. With the win, the Indians improve to 19-9-2 and with 40 points, have moved into second place in the NOJHL standings going into road play this weekend at North Bay and Abitibi.
