It’s come down to a pair of games.

By Saturday morning, the city champions in junior and senior high school football will be determined with the winners representing Sault Ste. Marie in Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics (NOSSA) play in November.

The junior final, set for Thursday night at 7:30 p.m., will see Korah take on St. Mary’s with the senior teams from the same two schools playing in the senior final 24 hours later.

Both games are at Superior Heights.

The Colts ran through an unbeaten regular season in both junior and senior play this season.

The senior Colts won both regular season meetings between the two schools.

In week one, the Colts picked up a 26-9 win before winning by a 36-7 margin in week three.

Korah advanced to the city final thanks to a 44-8 win over White Pines in semi-final play last week.

Nathan Guizzetti ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Colts in the win.

St. Mary’s beat Superior Heights 26-6 in the other semi-final game.

Quarterback Matti Tucker threw for a pair of touchdown passes and 175 yards on seven completions for the Knights in the game.

In junior play, the Colts wins over St. Mary’s in junior play came in week one (14-3) and week four (13-0).

Both championship games are at Superior Heights.

The junior champion will host Sudbury’s junior football winner in the NOSSA final on Nov. 9 in Sault Ste. Marie while the city’s senior champ will host Sudbury’s city champion in a NOSSA semi-final game, also on Nov. 9. The winner of the senior semi-final game will host North Bay’s city champion on Nov. 16 to determine the NOSAA representative for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association (OFSAA) Bowl Series in Windsor in late-November.
