Algoma shines at OCAA all-star weekend

Algoma Thunderbirds Shine at OCAA All-Star Event The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association 20th edition of Basketball All-Star Saturday took place at Durham College on Saturday, January 20th at the the Durham College Athletic Centre in Oshawa, Ontario.

In both games the East teams beat West teams. The score in the Women's game was East team 79 to the West team's 64 and in the Men's game the score was East team 82 over the West team's 78.

Several Algoma University College Thunderbird basketball players were recognized for outstanding performances.

In the Women's game, Danielle D'Ettore representing the West team had the game high 15 points, 3 rebounds along with 3 steals and was named Player of the Game. Lara Stilin scored 12 points.

In the Men's game, Pat Murray scored 11 points which included 3 three pointers along with 7 rebounds and was also named Player of the Game. Algoma Thunderbird Andrew Turgeon out shot 17 other competitors to win the Spalding 3 Point Shoot Out.
