Workweek Outlook: Heat, rain, repeat

If nothing else, this summer is becoming very predictable. We see several days of increasing heat each week, followed by a splash of rain and cooler weather. A pattern like this is thanks to what's called a 'zonal flow' of weather across the province, where weather features continuously move west to east and no single type of weather locks in for a longer period of time.

This coming workweek will be no different. A warm, sunny start on Monday will give way to rain and a midweek cooldown before more heat builds into this coming weekend.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a few late-day clouds and daytime highs of 27°C.

Clouds move into the region Tuesday morning, followed by rain most of the day and temperatures near 24°C. Storms and heavier rain are possible in the evening and overnight.

We could see a few lingering showers Wednesday morning, but we should see some breaks in the clouds during the afternoon as daytime highs reach 23°C.

Sunny skies return on Thursday and Friday, and temperatures will creep up to 28°C by the end of the workweek and this coming weekend.
