The sudden surge of warm air has come and gone, and now we return to early Spring conditions.
Normal daytime highs for the second half of April typically reach 10°C -- we might climb back to that level by the end of the week. Between now and then, we can expect to fight off temperatures closer to freezing. We might see a few flurries early this week, but thankfully, no accumulation is likely.
Colder air moves back into the region on Monday, with temperatures lingering around 7°C in the afternoon. Skies will be cloudy with patchy drizzle and isolated showers throughout the day. Overnight lows will fall back below freezing with a chance of flurries.
Cold gusty northwest winds arrive Tuesday and keep daytime highs close to freezing. Skies will be cloudy, with a risk of scattered flurries. However, the winds should weaken, and clouds move out in the evening. We should see sunshine return on Wednesday, but the cool northwest breeze hangs on to keep daytime highs near 7°C.
A change of showers returns late Thursday but should give way to sunshine on Friday. Both days should see temperatures climb to near formal values of 10°C. However, an early look at the weekend suggests it might cool off yet again.
