**************************** Mary Rossiter to receive community recognition award
SAULT STE. MARIE - The Cultural Advisory Board Community Recognition Award is presented annually by the Corporation of the City of Sault Ste. Marie.
This award recognizes cultural contributions for activities considered to be particularly outstanding, innovative, or which have demonstrated long-term commitment to culture as defined in the City’s Cultural Policy.
The 2011 recipient of the Community Recognition Award for heritage and performing arts is Mary Rossiter.
Thanks to the many volunteer hours Mary has committed over the years, the Sault Ste. Marie community is well known throughout Ontario and the United States.
Having served as a board member for numerous organizations, Mary is commended for her ongoing dedication and support of the arts in our city.
Mary is notorious as the Sault’s Town Crier at events, festivals and special announcements.
She is also an avid fundraiser for over 50 not-for-profit organizations.
The Cultural Advisory Board Community Recognition Award for 2011 will be presented to Mary Rossiter at the October 24, 2011 City Council meeting.
