Near-seasonal temperatures for early February will start the weekend as snow squalls batter the city and areas north along eastern Lake Superior. The winds will shift several times this weekend. The first shift will end the squalls on Saturday, and the shift later this weekend will usher in colder temperatures for much of next week.

Snow squalls bring another 10-20cm of snow on Friday, and a wind shift to the northwest will drop afternoon temperatures to near -4°C. In the locations east of the Sault, we see much less snow.

Saturday will be cloudy, with a chance of isolated flurries as daytime highs reach -4°C again.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with gusty northwest winds and temperatures near  -6°C.

The colder-than-normal weather will move into the Sault region at the beginning of next week and remain for at least several days.
