Ontario Court Justice Andrew Buttazzoni today found Vic Fremlin not guilty of assault.

The well-known owner of Lock City Dairies and North Shore Tractor was charged as a result of an incident involving his daughter on September 7 of last year, the Sault Star reports

Sarah Fremlin, Vic's 29-year-old daughter, called her father to help her remove her husband from the home they shared when she confronted him about cheating on her and he refused to leave.

A heated argument ensued between father and daughter and charges were laid by the police as a result.

The trial mainly took place in May and June but was recessed until today when it concluded and a decision was rendered.

Justice Buttazzoni imposed a six-month peace bond on Vic Fremlin with conditions not to harass or physically interfere with his daughter Sarah.

Both Bruce Willson, counsel for the defence, and Crown Prosecutor David Kirk agreed the peace bond was warranted based on evidence presented earlier in the trial.
