Building strong communities requires both social and structural investment. Lafarge Canada is proud to have contributed to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 project in Sault Ste. Marie, a new mixed-use development that provides much-needed housing while honouring veterans.
The recently completed Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 Project, a landmark addition to the Sault Ste. Marie Skyline is owned and developed by Veterans Housing (Ontario) Inc. With SalDan General Contractors leading the construction, they relied on concrete supplied by Lafarge Canada to bring the project to life. The Royal Canadian Legion development is a showcase of the kind of innovative building practices that Lafarge is proud to be a part of, which specializes in delivering sustainable building solutions encompassing ready-mix concrete, cement, aggregates, and precast concrete.
Impressed locals aren’t the only people admiring the quality of construction integrated into the building of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. In fact, the project recently received the MultiFamily ICF Builders Magazine Award, which recognizes excellence in Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction. The award highlights the project’s innovation, energy efficiency, and durability.
ICF technology enhances energy efficiency, sound insulation, and durability, making it a preferred choice for sustainable construction. This project’s extensive use of ICF, up to 94,400 square feet, demonstrates its ability to improve both the environmental footprint and structural performance of modern buildings.
