“At Union Gas, we believe that investing in education has many rewards,” said Brent Belec, utility services manager, Union Gas. “We’re very pleased to support the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre and their commitment to investing in the future of our youth.”

The CBHC is committed to offering quality education to local and regional schools in the classroom and at its public museum. The museum is unique in that it is 100 per cent interactive, with a strong focus on science - specifically the science of flight.

Between 2,500 and 3,000 students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, participate in the CBHC’s presentations every year. Many of the volunteers who lead school tours are retired teachers.

New education programs that have an environmental, forestry and weather detection theme have been developed recently to expand the bushplane centre's education mandate.

“This generous donation from Union Gas again this year helps to strengthen our collaborative partnership and add to our ongoing community engagement efforts,” stated Mike Delfre, executive director, Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre. “The Bushplane Centre appreciates the support we have received from Union Gas over the years to assist us to educate children about our natural environment."
