The annual Toys for Tots campaign returns this month.

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has announced that this year's event will run from Nov. 1 to Dec. 1.

The program welcomes people who have received a parking ticket to pay the fine amount by donating a new children’s toy of equal or greater value to support the community’s Christmas Cheer efforts.

Those who get parking tickets during November (excluding accessible parking fines) can bring their ticket with an unwrapped toy in its original packaging (and proof of purchase) to the transit main office at 111 Huron St., Sault Ste. Marie.

Multiple toys are welcome, as long as their total value matches or surpasses the fine and gift cards and partial payments combining toys and cash will not be accepted. Toys must be provided to transit by Dec. 9 to qualify.

For more information, contact the parking division at 705-759-5320 or click here.
