Luis and Bilinda Lima wrote to SooToday.com this morning to tell us about their 10-year-old daughter's first concert experience.

Young Kira was apparently impressed last night at Sir Elton John's prowess on the piano.

"The moment that we will never forget was when half way during the show, Kira was amazed at Sir Elton John's piano playing skills, and she turned to us and said (yelled): 'I think he must be really good at typing on the computer,'" the Limas wrote. "We agreed. This was one night she will never forget, and neither will we."

The Lima family isn't alone, as we're positive it's a sentiment shared by all 6,200 in attendance during Sir Elton's first-ever Sault Ste. Marie appearance.

Jumping from his piano stool following each song to throw a bit of love and appreciation at the audience, Sir Elton was met with a crowd on its feet hurling the love right back at him.

By the time the impressive string of hits during the three-hour performance reached Honky Cat, the record-breaking audience had abandoned the notion of sitting altogether, remaining on its feet to dance and crowd towards the stage.

And despite admitting to one tiny faux pas, Sir Elton was the epitome of style, grace and professionalism.

"Apparently I've had my fly open for the whole show," he confessed about six songs into the set. "At my age, you take what you can get."

When the 63-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee returned to the stage following an absolutely deafening call for an encore, he spent several minutes signing autographs before returning to the piano.

"You just can't beat playing places like this," he said. "Thank you, Sault Ste. Marie."
