The Rotary Club of Sault Ste Marie is inviting students from Grade 7 to 12 to participate in this year's Rotary Algoma STEM Fair presented by Tenaris.

The STEM fair will take place on Friday, April 11 at the George Leach Centre at Algoma University, with an awards ceremony to follow the next day, said a news release issued by the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie.
Participants will compete for over $10,000 in prizes and scholarships, plus the winning projects will qualify for an all-expense paid trip to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in Fredericton, New Brunswick this June.
Students can participate individually or in teams of two.
“The STEM Fair provides a unique opportunity for students our community to showcase their discoveries and think critically on how to expand what they already know,” said Dr. Dante Carlascio, Rotarian and Fair Chair.
“Students will have the opportunity to present their projects to local judges and interact with professionals from various industries as well as with students from other schools.
"We are very proud of the Rotary Algoma STEM Fair presented by Tenaris. We have sent some amazing students to the Canada-Wide Science Fair in recent years and the committee is very excited to welcome many more students this year.”
Students will explore their enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and math while enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
A student’s project may consist of one or more experiments aimed at addressing a specific question from the fair’s seven challenge areas: discovery, energy, environment, health, information, innovation, and resources.
