The line crews are currently investigation a power out in the downtown area affecting 802 customers.

City council called it quits after a downtown power outage struck the Civic Centre shortly before 5:30 p.m. today.
PUC says line crews are looking for the source of the downtown outage, which is affecting 2,003 customers.
According to a city news release issued this evening, the following measures have been taken due to freezing rain and falling temperatures:
- All bus routes will end as of 8 p.m., but are expected to resume as usual tomorrow morning
- Tuesday's garbage collection is cancelled. Next Tuesday's pickup will allow for four bags.
- All programming at city arenas and the Northern Community Centre is closed for the rest of the evening
- All city library branches are closed
The City of Sault Ste Marie also reminds motorists to drive according to conditions and allow space for heavy equipment operators to clear and sand roadways safely and efficiently.
Pedestrians are cautioned that decreasing temperatures will mean slippery sidewalks.
Also, the parking by-law is still in effect, so no parking on city streets between midnight and 6 a.m.
