UPDATE: Power restored to all Sault neighbourhoods

UPDATE: 6:45 P.M.

PUC is reporting that all systems are back online.

ORIGINAL STORY:

PUC Services is reporting multiple power outages in the Sault and surrounding area, including in Fort Creek, where nearly 2,000 customers have been without electricity since shortly before 4 p.m.

Other areas impact include the vicinity of Second Line West and Walls Side Road (396 customers affected) and Red Rock (130 customers).

Anyone with information on the cause of these outage, or other concerns, is urged to call the PUC emergency number at 705-759-6555.

PUC reminds customers:

• Downed wires should always be considered energized or "live", and extremely dangerous
• Do not approach or drive over a downed power line and do not touch anything the power line may be in contact with
• Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about powerline safety and the dangers that can be associated with power lines
• Take all the necessary safety precautions during a power outage
