The replacement of Joe Biden with Kamala Harris as the U.S. Democratic presidential nominee has left readers more inclined to think that Donald Trump will fail in his bid to retake the White House, online polls show.
We ran an online poll in June, before Biden left the race, asking who you thought would win the U.S. election in November. When he withdrew from the race and was replaced by Kamala Harris, we ran a new, updated version of the poll.
About 5 per cent of readers overall expected Trump to win a Trump/Biden election, and now now expect Harris to win a Trump/Harris election.

The age trend from June continued in August, but with a consistent shift toward Harris among readers over 40. (The 50-59 result from June seems to clearly be an outlier.)
