Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today that the federal government is investing $600 million in the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund.
This funding supports the Community Futures Network and five regional agencies, including the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, FedDev Ontario, FedNor, and Western Economic Diversification Canada.
"We will be here for Canadians, whatever it takes, for as long it takes," Trudeau said.
The government is also investing an additional $50 million for services that support women and children who face violence.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is scheduled make an announcement today at noon.
He will be joined by the President of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages Mélanie Joly, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam, and Deputy Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Howard Njoo.
The Prime Minister is expected to announce assistance for small and medium sized businesses to help them through the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
