Lindsey Ackland was one of the Home Depot employees on hand Canada Day morning as the new store officially opened its garden centre.

Currently studying history and French at Algoma University College, Lindsey's working part-time at the centre, which will be open until 5 p.m. on the holiday.

Canada Day celebrations start at 2 p.m. at Roberta Bondar Tent Pavilion with Amanda Caputo signing the national anthem accompanied by a dissonance of local politicians.
