Outage disrupts power to Station Mall, Bay Street (update: restored)

Power has been restored to all customers

Original 12:50 p.m. information:
A power outage is currently disrupting service to 305 PUC customers in the downtown area, including Bay Street and the Station Mall.

A notice issued by PUC indicates the outage was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. today.

The cause of the outage is under investigation.

PUC reminds all customers:
    •    Downed wires should always be considered energized or "live", and extremely dangerous
    •    Do not approach or drive over a downed power line and do not touch anything the power line may be in contact with
    •    Parents are encouraged to talk to their children about powerline safety and the dangers that can be associated with power lines
    •    Take all the necessary safety precautions during a power outage
