The City of Sault Ste. Marie is taking a closer look at public transit and representatives want your feedback.
A Transit Optimization Study will assess the "design and efficiency" of Sault Ste. Marie Transit Services, a news release said.
The study will provide a review of the city’s transit network, including:
- Assessing the effectiveness of current bus routes and on-demand services in response to changing ridership and demographics.
- Evaluating the potential relocation of the Dennis Street terminal and its impacts.
- Providing recommendations to enhance efficiency while maintaining safe and reliable service.
As an integral part of the study, Sault Ste. Marie Transit will host a drop-in information session on Tuesday, March 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Ronald A. Irwin Civic Centre (99 Foster Drive—Russ Ramsay Room on the third floor).
A formal presentation will be held at 5:30 p.m. Both transit users and non-users are encouraged to participate to ensure the transit system is aligned with the city’s priorities and future needs.
