Game On! (6 photos)

Adult 'Game On' session, with cash bar, runs from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Bushplane Museum; all funds go to Habitat for Humanity

Children played games and enjoyed snacks for a good cause Saturday afternoon at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.

Saturday evening, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., is reserved for adult gaming (with a cash bar) at the Bushplane Museum.

Game On is a fundraiser in which the public can play conventional  board games (such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Balderdash and many others) and enjoy refreshments (including a cash bar in the evening), with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie & Area.

Newer games include Settlers of Catan, Forbidden Desert, and Fury of Dracula.

Admission prices are $20 for adults (16 and over), $10 for youth, and $30 for a family of four.

“What’s more family friendly than playing games, and there are a lot of adults who are really into board games from the past,” said Sandi Wheeler, Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie & Area resource development manager.

Wheeler is also Game Keeper for Saturday’s event.

Many of the games, Wheeler said, were donated by Games Nook II.

Refreshments were provided by Thyne’s Family Bakery and Habitat volunteers.

The Bushplane Museum is one of Habitat’s community partners.

Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste. Marie & Area has built seven homes for families in our area since 2002, and aims to build more.
