Gallery: RBC employees walk for Alzheimer’s (8 photos)

The walk marks RBC’s first in-person event since the pandemic began

Royal bank employees dressed in blue and walked along Great Northern Road this afternoon to help support the Alzheimer's Society.

Team members from RBC and the Alzheimer's Society began their walk at the new Royal Bank location and made the almost two-kilometre trek to the Alzheimer's building.

Trish Porco, the community manager for the Royal Bank, was thrilled to welcome back their first event since the onset of COVID.

"RBC has always been so focused on giving back to the community," she says. "As a team, we haven't had much opportunity to get together. It means a lot that we're able to gather as a team, and support one of our amazing community partners. The Alzheimer's Society is amazing at what they do."

Terry Caporossi, the executive director with the Alzheimer's Society, was grateful for RBC's involvement today.

"As a community support service, we rely on our community to provide us financial and volunteer support," he says. "We're an organization that has built ourselves on pride and respect, and what they're doing here today demonstrates the community-mindedness they have at RBC. We really appreciate the support."
