From yard care to cheese curds, local youth launch new companies

Summer Company program helps young entrepreneurs start up seasonal businesses

Nine local youth are now running their own businesses through the Summer Company program at the Millworks - Centre for Entrepreneurship. 

This program provides grants and mentoring to help high school and post-secondary students start thier own seasonal business.

“The Summer Company program is a great opportunity for local youth to develop an understanding of operating a small business,” said Mayor Christian Provenzano. “I wish all of the participants the best of luck, and I want to encourage people to support them. Our community will be stronger with increased youth participation in shaping our future, and this program continues to help bring ideas to fruition and turn them into successful businesses.”  

The followung students are taking part in the 2020 Summer Company program:
