At the bottom of all of our local stories, readers now have the option of submitting feedback. Here's what SooToday readers had to say about what was making news over the last week:

Oct. 7:

Contract awarded for new $16-million office building one block from downtown plaza

"Why would this not be giving to local contractors who pay taxes here such as Saldan or Ruscio? I have worked for both these companies and they great to work for and in a shop local buy local times why not keep it local? Typical Sault Ste Marie not supporting its own municipality over a million bucks when those companies spent more then that in taxes here."
- Darcey S.

Downtown Plaza will be beautiful, but at what cost, asks councillor?

"The problem with this city is that it does not properly maintain the 'beautiful' projects of yesteryear, For example, take a walk from East Street to Brock Street; or the Hub Trail at the foot of Clergue Park! Those two walks are in need of repair...they are hazards for the elderly walkers! Eight million dollars? Another financial black hole similar to the City Hall structure."
- George G.

"This money should be going to support a double ice pad at the McMeeken site. Could also put a splash pad there!"
- Ryan J.

"On this point I agree with Matthew. In todays economic situation, we do not have funds available for 'nice to have' expenditures such as this. Where is fiscal responsibility in the city?"
- Brian O.
