Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services responded to a report of smoke coming from the second floor of a home located at 57 Wellington St. E. at approximately 3 p.m. Thursday.
At least three canines and one cat were rescued by firefighters in the process. It's unclear if anyone was injured as a result of the incident.
Paramedics and police officers also attended the scene.
