Sault Ste. Marie's largest nursing home is looking to add as many as four new board members with an emphasis on those with experience in clinical health care.

The board members are "passionate about ensuring quality long-term care to the 374 residents of the F. J. Davey Home and supporting the Home's 390 staff," says a news release from the home. A background in communications, public sector governance boards, or any other relevant experience is an asset. All candidates will be considered by the selection committee.

The Davey home is a not-for-profit corporation managed by operational partner, Extendicare Assist.

The Board meets 10 times a year, monthly between September and June, and there are occasional meetings required at the call of the chair. Monthly commitment to prepare for and attend meetings is approximately 4 to 6 hours per month. Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 4 p.m.

A letter expressing interest and a brief resume and complete contact information should be forwarded by email to Executive Director Connie Lee by emailing [email protected].
