An eco resort in Batchawana Bay took home the top prize in a business pitch competition.

Over a dozen business owners from across the Algoma District took part in the competitive process, part of the annual Bridges to Better Business learning and networking event.

They were scored by an expert panel of judges and audience voting.

Sunnd Nordic Eco Resort owner Ann Marie Barry and Bronson Kovacs from Zoli’s Kleaners earned their way to the finals, which saw the four-season geo dome glamping resort come out on top.

Barry went home with the contest’s grand prize valued at $15,000, while Kovacs took home the second place prize valued at $5,000.

Erin Bury – one of Canada’s top female entrepreneurs, and CEO/co-founder of Willful – delivered the event’s keynote presentation.
