Aerial photos, taken today, of the Goulais River

The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources has released a series of photographs taken during a helicopter flyover today of the Goulais River.

The pictures show a one-kilometre-long ice jam forming upstream of Kirby's Corners that is worrying officials.

They also show the mouth of the Goulais River, still frozen over.

This image, meanwhile, shows ice breaking up in very large chunks between Kirby's Corner and the Ministry of Transportation bridge.
