Who's gonna fill their shoes? Good question....They don't make 'em like that anymore.
This first Father's Day without you here is going to be difficult. Just like each and every day since you passed away. Your absence is felt so strongly.
Where you sat in the living room, there's just an empty chair. Where there were jokes and laughter, singing or whistling, there's quiet. There's no "Who's there?" everytime we walk in the door. The silence is lonely. I miss the days of Tim's runs and crazy long lists of errands we didn't always get through. I miss the drives when we'd listen to music and talk. I miss our family get togethers (even as loud and crowded as they got over the years). Most of all, I miss you. Your voice, your smile, your advice - everything about you. Even your bitching (believe it or not!).
Forever wouldn't have been long enough Dad.
