Passed away peacefully with family by his side at the F.J. Davey Home on Tuesday, January, 21, 2025 at the age of 76.
Rod is now reunited with his parents John and Stella Sewell. Cherished brother of the late Laureena Hill, late Marilyn Sexton (Andre), Doug Sewell (Verna), Albert Sewell, late Dave Sewell (Leeann), Shelley Sewell (Larry), Wendy Dolan and Hali Solomon (late Chris) and the late Johnny Sewell. Rod will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special brother to Chris McCormick.
Rod was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He enjoyed many hours on the lake with family and friends but wasn't too thrilled when others would catch more or BIGGER fish than him.
He was a dedicated individual who started working fighting forest fires in Northern Ontario. Later assisting as a spotter and navigator with the MNR Fire Detection Unit. He also worked many years serving his Batchewana First Nation Community.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522) on Sunday, January 26, 2025 between 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Memorial contributions to the Brain Injury Association would be appreciated. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the F. J.
