The Chippewa County Health Department is reporting an increase in COVID-19 cases over the past week.
In a release, the Health Department says the increase is "likely due to community transmission, group gatherings among adults, and relaxing of social distancing and masking."
The increased case count is also being connected to team sports, gatherings and parties happening on a more regular basis.
The County has also witnessed an increased number of cases in individuals between the ages of 18 and 45.
The case increase had been in the same line as numbers nationwide.
