Representatives from the 49th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery will take part in this year's Remembrance Day ceremony on Nov. 11.
A news release issued today states that soldiers will participate in the ceremony at the cenotaph and will conduct a ceremonial gun salute near the Roberta Bondar Pavilion.
The public can expect to hear three loud salutes involving the firing of 105 mm blank ammunition as part of the ceremony.
"Residents should be advised that in addition to soldiers in uniform on parade without weapons, they will see a gun detachment operating a 105 mm Howitzer to conduct the gun salute, and a small group of soldiers carrying service rifles with no ammunition will be posted at a cenotaph guard in uniform," the release says.
Due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions, spectators are discouraged from attending the Remembrance Day ceremony at the cenotaph.
