Afternoon news On October 8th Police Officers were called to an apartment unit in the 300 block of Albert St. W. for an assault complaint. Officers learned that a 47 year old male had assaulted his 39 year old neighbor by punching him.

On October 8th Police Officers were called to an apartment unit in the 300 block of Albert St. W. for an assault complaint. Officers learned that a 47 year old male had assaulted his 39 year old neighbor by punching him. The victim received minor injuries in the assault that did not require treatment at the hospital. The accused will appear in court on November 18th.

On October 9, 2013 Police were called to a home on Glenwood Ave. that was broken into. Thieves entered the home and stole a purse. In another break in from the 9th, thieves entered a home in the 300 block of Albert St. East and made off with a television.

Robbery and Attempt Break and Enter from October 8th

Yesterday morning a female reported being robbed on the 6th of October around 4 am.  The victim was walking westbound on Cathcart Street near John Street when she noticed two males walking behind her. They yelled at her to stop and demanded her money.  She kept walking.  One of the males came up from behind and struck the victim in the face.  The victim was able to flee the area.  She did not require any medical treatment. Nothing was taken in the robbery.

The only description of the two males was that they were both 5 feet 10 inches tall and were both wearing jeans and either dark or grey hoodies.

Yesterday morning between 9:30 am and 11 am there was an attempt break and enter to a residence in the 2000 block of Queen Street East.

October 9 morning news

24 year old Riccardo Polcicchio of 345 St. Georges Ave East was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5000. It is alleged that on October 7 2013 the accused was at Walmart in the Station Mall where he was observed on video stealing a coffee machine, a case of pop and various other items. The accused left the store without paying for items and was later identified through video.  On October 8 2013 the accused attended at Mac’s Mart on Boundary Rd where he stole scratch lottery tickets then redeemed the winning tickets.  He was once again identified through video. Police then attended at his residence where he was arrested and charged. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 4.

A 27 year old male was arrested at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged with assault, threatening and theft under $5000 from a domestic incident that took place on October 4 2013. He is to appear in Bail Court on October 9.

A 40 year old male was arrested at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged with one count of breaching a court order. It is alleged the accused who was in custody on domestic violence matters, contacted the victim knowing that there was order by the court not to communicate with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in Bail Court on October 9.

29 year old Ryan Moll of 295 First Ave was arrested and charged with one count of theft under $5000. It is alleged that the accused was a superintendant of an east end apartment building when he collected rent money from tenants of the building and did not give the rent money to the owners of the building. He will be appearing in court on November 18.

Break and Enters

A break in was reported on Blake St. a play-station, an x-box and video games were reported stolen
